Our son Nicholas had a life-saving stem cell transplant thanks to early detection of ALD, umbilical cord blood donation, and the amazing team at the University of Minnesota Children's Hospital.  Run for ALD, Cure the Boys 5K run and 1 mile walk is our homegrown event and the only one of its kind in Missouri.  Through this event and other opportunities, we raise awareness of ALD, share the hope of Nicholas's success story, and raise funds to support life-saving research at the University of Minnesota, one of the largest transplant centers in the world and a leader in ALD Research.

The University of Minnesota Leukodystrophy Center is working to identify the cause and predictors of active cerebral ALD in order to better diagnose and improve treatment for boys fighting adrenoleukodystrophy in the hopes of one day finding a cure. Knockout ALD's 6 year total is now over $170,000 raised to help support the promising research of Dr. Troy Lund and his team.  Find out more about their work at https://www.pediatrics.umn.edu/divisions/blood-and-marrow-transplantation/leukodystrophy-center/give

Thank You for another successful Run for ALD, Cure the Boys!

Our 6th Annual Run for ALD was our biggest yet with near 590 participants, both in-person and virtual! Despite the very cold winter weather, it was a great day for ALD!
